Where did we begin

Sam

Outeniqua Academy began in April 2019

I have been involved in teaching for 27 years;
I have always had a dream of starting my own school.

However not just any school, a school that allows
a child to grow through their strengths and struggles.

My three passions in life are art, education, and children.
With this I can combine these three passions of doing what we can,
to help children that may not feel understood in a
normal school environment.

Having four children of my own, I understand the
struggle children have when they have learning
barriers or having a high IQ but do not fall
into the norms of our education system.

Outeniqua Academy grew from a small preschool
on our house to a school that is
now no longer a h
ouse but school.

I have always believed in small classes of ten children in each,

I know from teaching that with smaller classes
we are able to know our children.
Thus builds their strengths and encourages them to
overcome any delays they might have.

We believe that all children have the right to the very best education.

Our core values of respect, care, honesty, responsibility, appreciation,                                                         and determination underpin everything we do.

We are committed to helping children to become lifelong learners:
to be reflective and resilient and to have a passion for new knowledge and skills.

Outeniqua Academy is a special place - enjoyment and challenge are at the heart of all we do.

We believe that every child is unique, and we aim to nurture and inspire them in a
safe, secure, and stimulating environment.

We are committed to giving each child the best education, creating a love of learning

and a curiosity about the world around them.

Our curriculum is creative and engaging, and our commitment to

developing growth mindset and knowledge of how to learn ensures that

our children become successful, independent, and lifelong learners.

We look forward to welcoming your child to our growing family.
Samantha.
